The EarthKeepers Club is a program that focuses on serving, reflecting on, and learning about the natural world. It is a space for youth (ages 12-16) to connect with others their age that have similar interests in the environment and conservation. An example of a typical day might look like a work project to remove invasive species in the morning, followed by a discussion over lunch about what it means to be a good steward, and wrapping up by catching and identifying dragonflies in the afternoon. Through this program, we aim to make a tangible impact and have fun along the way! The EarthKeepers Club currently has no cost to join and runs from April-October, on the second Saturday of each month. We are able to offer 3 volunteer hours for high school students that participate in a program day. We are excited to welcome you to the EarthKeepers Club whether it is your first time or you have been many times before! Join us on Saturday, September 13th to mark the beginning of our next chapter at the new A Rocha Ontario Centre (1440 Westover Rd, Millgrove, ON)! We are excited to welcome the A Rocha community to this new centre, bless this space with prayer and praise together, and celebrate all the new opportunities with a fun pizza party. Our staff team will be making some fresh pizza onsite, and you’re encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert if you’d like. All are welcome to join us. Spend your upcoming PA Day at the new A Rocha Ontario Centre! At this 1-day nature camp, your child will have the opportunity to learn about and build a personal connection to the natural world. Each nature camp program will be filled with nature experiences, science experiments, storytelling, nature-based art and fun games! Together, we will explore nature from both familiar and new perspectives, building friendships and fond memories along the way. This event is open to children ages 5-13. Join us at the A Rocha Ontario Centre (Millgrove, ON) on Sunday, November 16th (2pm - 5pm) for an afternoon of hands-on care for creation!   Together, we’ll weed and prepare garden beds for spring planting. If time and attendance allow, we’ll also tackle some buckthorn removal in the hedgerows. No experience needed. We’ll finish the day with a warm soup supper, provided by our team—a time to share stories, enjoy good food, and celebrate the beauty of serving together.
