for artists interested in training their own machine learning model from their own small data sets. AI is not magic. In this workshop we look at how you can create your own Machine Learning Model using the Micro:bit. Your tutor will show you how a closed off, small data set AI model can be trained and used to recognise movement and gestures. You will collect motion data, train a machine learning model to detect patterns, then program the micro:bit to run that model. Micro:bit CreateAI is a free, browser-based tool that lets you train a micro:bit to recognise your physical movements (clapping, waving, jumping, etc.) using the device's accelerometer. Micro:bit Educational Foundation You will finish the workshop with your very own personally trained interactive artwork, and an insight into pop culture AI tools. This workshop is suitable for someone who: Anyone with an interest in AI and what happens under the hood.  Wants to do practical work and discuss how the tech is developing. This workshop is not for someone who: Is hoping for a high level programming course. Is not for making generative artworks with Language or Image models. Doesn’t want to broaden their understanding of AI. You will need: Laptop that connects to the internet. A web browser of your choice installed. (Chrome recommended)  Micro:bit with micro usb cable. ** If you need to borrow a laptop or Micro:bit please select the item as an add-on when selecting your ticket. Thursday 28th January 2027 at EYRES Monsell This training is not aimed at schools (apart From Rutland Schools who are welcomed to attend). This course is designed for both DSL’s and deputy DSL’s that are new to the role, it can also be used as a refresher training. Designated Safeguarding Leads are also known as Designated Safeguarding Officer or Lead for Safeguarding there are many equivalents. (This training is not for school DSLs) Please e-mail us your full name after the training, if you would like a certificate. This is an advanced level course for those that have already had Safeguarding Awareness training including the signs and indicators of abuse. The session will explore and provide clarity on the questions: what is the role of the DSL? What are the responsibilities of the role? Do these differ between different organisations? And if yes, should they? What is the relevant legislation and guidance underpinning this role? Why do people ‘miss’ the signs and fail to take action? How do we overcome these barriers? How can we start to show that we are putting the learning from serious case reviews into practice? Moving on, it will cover key updates (the content of these will be dependent on what the Safeguarding Board identify at the time of the course as key information). It will then move on to ensure that participants are confident in identifying and responding to concerns. We will look at ‘signs of safety’ in the referral context, record keeping, what might happen following a referral, the need to follow up and be persistent. We will also look at escalation procedures. In the afternoon we focus on Multi-agency working including information Sharing and give an overview of Safer Working Practice including recruitment. Exploring both serious case reviews and participants own experience of multi-agency working at all levels. We will dispel common myths around information sharing and share best practice. 'There will also be a chance to look at an audit of practice and to assess areas for development. Trainer: Tracy Charlton By the end of the course participants will: • Be clear of their safeguarding role and responsibilities as a DSL and the key safeguarding legislation and guidance. • Understand the barriers that can exist to taking action and have identified ways to overcome these and create a safe culture for staff and children. • Be confident in decisions about what action to take, what records to keep and what referrals to make when there is a concern. • Understand local processes and procedures, including escalation. • Have explored the necessity for multi-agency communication and effective multi-agency work to safeguard and protect children and have the confidence to challenge when needed. Objectives: • To be clear of your role and responsibilities as a DSL • Understand the Barriers that exist to staff taking action and identify ways to overcome these and create a safe culture for staff and children. • To start to be able to state how you as a DSL can put the learning from serious case reviews into practice. • To understand your responsibilities in relation to key local and national themes – e.g, voice of the child, online safety, mental health, and the resources available to you. • Recap on the signs and indicators of abuse with a focus on the ‘lived experience of the child’ and factors creating additional vulnerability. • Understand local processes and procedures. • Identify the need for ‘professional curiosity’ and being conscious of ‘disguised compliance.’ • Know how to respond and how to make a quality referral. • Identify how to keep effective records. • Demonstrate a commitment to Persistence – notice, check, share, follow-up, escalate. • To understand the DSL’s responsibilities in terms of multi-agency working and information sharing. • To explore the why this is a persistent theme in serious case reviews - what are the myths and barriers and how to work to overcome these. • To look at safer working practice including recruitment. • Audit of practice and assessment of areas for development in your setting that you have identified as a result of this training. • Evaluation of Development and Learning. Renaissance Man Live is a full day designed for men over 35 who are ready to stop putting themselves last. No fluff. No motivational waffle. Just practical, expert-led education on the things that actually matter: your health, your energy, your hormones, your mindset, and your plan for the rest of the year. This isn’t a seminar where you sit and listen for eight hours. You’ll be involved and challenged, and you’ll walk out with a written action plan specific to you. What’s Included in Your Ticket ✔ Expert-led morning sessions covering nutrition, training, hormones, energy and mindset ✔ A complimentary men’s health blood test from our founding partner Voy (worth £35+) ✔ Your printed blood test results, reviewed on the day by Voy’s Director of Men’s Health ✔ Afternoon workshops including breathwork and ice bath experience ✔ A personal action plan workbook – you’ll leave with a clear plan for the rest of 2026 ✔ Access to the Renaissance Man community of like-minded men ✔ Tea, coffee and refreshments throughout the day Your Free Blood Test – Presented by Voy Every ticket includes a complimentary men’s health blood test from Voy, the UK’s leading men’s health clinic. Your finger-prick test kit will be posted to you before the event, so your results are ready on the day. On the day, Voy’s Director of Men’s Health will deliver a keynote session breaking down what your results actually mean and how you can keep your hormones at peak performance. You’ll also see how your numbers compare to the room average . No one is asked to share their results publicly. This alone is worth the price of the ticket. Most men have never had a proper blood panel done. Now you’ll know exactly where you stand – and what to do about it. How the Day Works Morning (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): You’ll be seated at round tables of 10 for an interactive morning of expert-led sessions. This isn’t death-by-PowerPoint – you’ll use your phone to participate in live Q&A, work through exercises in your personal workbook, and hear from Jay and guest speakers on the practical changes that move the needle on your health, energy and focus. Jeff from Voy delivers his keynote and live blood test reveal during the morning session. Lunch (1:00 PM – 1:45 PM) : Refuel and connect with the other men in the room. This is where the real conversations happen. Afternoon (1:45 PM – 4:00 PM) : You’ll rotate through breathwork sessions and an ice bath experience on the Leicester Tigers rugby pitch. Between rotations, you’ll have the chance to speak privately with Voy’s health team about your blood test results. The day wraps with your completed personal action plan – a written blueprint for the next six months. Close (4:00 PM – 4:30 PM) : Final session, key takeaways and next steps. Who Is This For? Renaissance Man Live is for men over 35 who are done reading about change and ready to make it. You might be a business owner, a professional, a dad, or all three. You don’t need to be a gym regular or a health expert; you just need to be willing to invest one day in yourself. If you’ve been telling yourself, “I’ll sort my health out when things calm down,” this is your wake-up call. Things aren’t going to calm down! But you can get sharper, more energised and more intentional about how you spend your time – and it starts here. The Venue Leicester Tigers Rugby Club is one of the most iconic sporting venues in the UK. You’ll have the run of their event spaces for the morning sessions and access to the rugby pitch itself for the afternoon ice bath and breathwork experience.
